Limiting the Residues and Restriction the Use of Substances on Food A. SANITARY AND PHYTOSANITARY MEASURES The measure (Chapter 10, para 22 (d)) provides to restrict the tolerance limits for residues of substances on food. No one shall import food containing agricultural chemical in excess of the maximum permissible level determined by the authority concerned. Hygienic Requirement for Food A. SANITARY AND PHYTOSANITARY MEASURES The measure (Chapter 10, Para 22 (a, f) provides the hygienic requirement on food. No one shall import the food that may be poisonous, dangerous or injurious to the health of the consumer, food containing putrid, deteriorated substance or substance unfit for human consumption. EXPORT RELATED MEASURES This measure (Notification No. 60/2017) provides the requirement to get the authorization from the relevant agency. Anyone who wants to export this item, if necessary, needs to get recommendation letter or registration from the relevant ministries or departments according to their existing regulations even though this item does not require the export license. No one shall export food containing substance prohibited or not allowed by the authorities concerned. The objectives of the measure are to enable the public to consume food of genuine quality, free from danger and hygienic, to prevent the public from consuming food that may cause danger or are injurious to health, to supervise production of controlled food systemically, to control and regulate the production, import, export, storage, distribution and sale of food systematically. Certification Required by the Exporting Country for the Plants and Plant Products P. EXPORT RELATED MEASURES This measure (Chapter 3, Para 5 and 6, c) provides for the requirement by the exporting country to obtain the phytosanitary certification before the goods are exported. A person who has been permitted to export plant or plant product, if desirous of obtaining phytosanitary certificate or disinfestations or disinfection treatment may apply to the Myanmar Agriculture Service after payment of the prescribed fees. In re-export plant, plant product, pest, beneficial organism or soil through transit camp to abroad, if desirous of obtaining phytosanitary certificate, application may be made to the Myanmar Agriculture Service after payment of the prescribed fees. Measures on Re-export of Plants and Plant Products P. EXPORT RELATED MEASURES This measure (Chapter 3, Para 6) provides for the measures applied by the government of the exporting country on exported goods which have originally been imported from abroad. In re-exporting plant product, pest, beneficial organism or soil through transit camp to abroad, if quarantine pests are found while inspecting, the Myanmar Agriculture Service has the right to carry out disinfestations or disinfection treatment. The person so concerned shall incur the costs. If desirous of obtaining phytosanitary certificate, application may be made to the Myanmar Agriculture Service after payment of the prescribed fees.
