Authorization Requirement to Export Nuclear Material, Radioactive Material or Irradiation Apparatus
| Description | This measure (Chapter 9, Para 21) provides the requirement to receive the permit from the relevant agency. A person desirous of exporting any kind of nuclear material, radioactive material or irradiation apparatus shall, before applying for import-export permit or license to the relevant Government Department or Organization, apply to the Department of Atomic Energy in order to obtain prior permission. The objectives of the measure are to develop atomic energy utilization in the State, to ensure safety in utilization of atomic energy in the State, to lay down and carry out measures for prevention of atomic radiation effects on man and environment. |
| Comments | The Atomic Energy Law 1998 is enacted by the State Peace and Development Council. This measure is subject to change as the conditions in the country change. |
