Authorization Requirement for Importing CITES Species

Description This measure (Annex A, Para 1-2, 2-2 and 3-2) provides for the authorization requirement from the relevant government agency before the importing the products. The import of any specimen of a species included in Appendix I, II and III shall require the prior grant and presentation of an import permit and either export permit or re-export certificate. The objective is to ensure that international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants does not threaten the survival of the species in the wild.
Comments Myanmar became as a member of Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora – CITES on 11 September, 1997. This measure may be changed according to the country’s condition.
