The State Law and Order Restoration Council enacts the Plant Pest Quarantine Law on 16th June, 1993. The objectives of this law are to prevent quarantine pests from entering into Myanmar by any means, to suppress effectively the spread of quarantine pests, to carry out, if necessary, disinfestations, disinfection treatment of plant or product to be exported and this issuance of phytosanitary certificate.
