Newsletter No.8/2021 concerning the extension of the period of temporary simplification of requirement for import license application
The Department of Trade, Ministry of Commerce issued the Newsletter No. 3/2021 and 4/2021 concerning the temporary simplification of requirement for import license application. According to those Newsletters, the following documents needed for the application of import license to import pharmaceuticals and the CMP items are simplified until 9-4-2021;
(a) Issuing import license for the importation of pharmaceuticals that have been imported before although the Drug Importation Approval Certificate (DIAC) and Drug Registration Certificate (DRC) is expired. However, the importer shall submit the FDA’s approval describing that DIAC and DRC is under the application process for extension of the validity of those certificates
(b) Issuing import license for the importation of CMP items without the submission of Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association -MGMA’s approval
The Department of Trade, Ministry of Commerce issued the Newsletter No. 8/2021 dated 4-5-2021 concerning the extension of the period of temporary simplification of requirement for import license application. According to the Newsletter, the document prescribed in Paragraph 1 (a) is still valid to submit until 11-6-2021 for obtaining the import license.
However, the MGMA’s approval is required for obtaining the import license as the MGMA is issuing the approval for the importation of the CMP items. The objective of this newsletter is to facilitate trade.
