C. PRE-SHIPMENT INSPECTION AND OTHER FORMALITIES |
This measure (Chapter 4, Para21,a,1 and Para 22,a,6) provides the requirement to conduct the pre-shipment inspection before importing. A person importing controlled precursor chemical from abroad shall submit recommendation of the Supervisory Committee for Controlled Precursor Chemical and the Pre-shipment Inspection Certificate and Marketing Contract/ Agreement must be submitted to the said Committee. A person desirous of importing into the country from abroad prepared mixture of pesticide or toxic substance shall, in order to obtain any of the following type of registration, apply to the Registration Board in prescribed form-
(a) Registration for experimental use
(b) Registration for provisional use
(c) Registration for full use
(d) Registration for special use

Conformity Assessment Related to TBT on Pesticides

This measure (Chapter 4, Para 14) provides the requirement for verification that a given TBT requirement has been met. An applicant for each kind of pesticide registration shall send to the Registration Board the application together with the sample of chemically analyzed prepared mixture of pesticide or toxic substance in prescribed quantity and weight, and instruction for use. Additional Charges for Pesticide

F. PRICE CONTROL MEASURES INCLUDING ADDITIONAL TAXES AND CHARGES |
This measure (Chapter 4, Article 14, b and c and Chapter 5, Article 17, c) provides for the additional charges levied in connection to services provided by the government. The applicant for the pesticide registration shall pay the prescribed laboratory test charges and registration fee, if the registration is approved, in accordance with the procedure laid down by the Registration Board. A person obtaining a license on application shall pay the prescribed license fee according to the procedure. Authorization Requirement for Pesticide Importer

This measure (Chapter 5, Article 17, a, b, c and d) provides for the authorization requirement for the importer from the relevant agency. A person desirous of engaging in enterprise for production and sale in the country of pesticide mixture compound from toxic substance imported from abroad, for repacking and sale in the country from prepared mixture of pesticide imported from abroad, of doing fumigation business and other than of them, a person desirous of selling pesticide or toxic substance shall, for purpose of obtaining a license, apply to the Department of Agriculture in the prescribed application form. The objective is for the safety from the hazard of pesticide to the consumer and environment. |

Inspection Requirement on Imported Pesticide

This measure (Article 30, a and m) provides for the product inspection requirement by the importing country. The imported pesticide or active ingredient, on arrival, shall be subject to inspected by the Myanmar Agriculture Service without failure in order to inspect the quality. Inspection to the pesticide business by the inspector shall be allowed and assistance necessary for inspection shall be rendered.
