The State Peace and Development Council enact the Fertilizer Law on 1st October, 2002 with the notification no. 7/2002. The objectives are to enable supporting the developing of agricultural sector which is the basic economy of the State, to enable supervision and control the fertilizer business systematically, to enable growers to use fertilizer of quality in conformity with the specifications, to support the conservation of soil and environment by utilizing suitable fertilizer, to enable carrying out of educative and research works extensively for the systematic utilization of fertilizer by the agriculturalist, to cooperate with government departments and organizations, international organizations and local and foreign non-governmental organizations regarding fertilizer business.
