The Ministry of Natural resources and Environmental Conservation announced the Notification No. 102/2020 on 30^th September 2020, concerning the classification of hardwood that will be collected taxes for the Union Budget and Region/State Budgets.

The taxes that will be collected on Teak and hardwood included in Group (1), which are Thitya, Ingyin, Pyinkado, Padauk, Thingannet, Tamalan in regions/states, shall be transferred to the Union Budget.

The taxes collected on the rest of the hardwoods shall be transferred to State/ region Budget starting from 1 November 2020.

This Notification No. 102/2020 prevails over the Notification No. 17/2013 issued by the Ministry of Forestry on 14 March 2013.
