Obtaining Import Recommendation (ER) for Seed from the National Seed Committee under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation

Procedure for Obtaining Import Recommendation  Letter for Seed

 Step 1
Any person who want to import the seed shall do account registration on website (mairs.doa.gov.mm) under Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, Department of Agriculture. And then, the application form shall be filled on website (mairs.doa.gov.mm) along with the document (a) or (b) mentioned below. Importer can apply seed import recommendation for the varieties being issued recognition certificate and seed business license.  According to Procedures Relating to the Seed Law (2016), Form 11, the supporting documents  are-
a)    Proforma Invoice for the varieties being issued recognition certificate and seed business licence (eg. Rice, corn, wheat, sesame, sunflower, pulses, cabbage, cauliflower, tomato, chili)
b)    Proforma Invoice and seed business licence for the varieties being allowed seed business licence only (eg. Lily bulb. Seedling of Ornamental plants, perennial fruits and strawberry)
 Step 2
The application form on mairs.doa.gov.mm shall be checked for the completeness. If it is not complete, the notification for modification will be sent to the applicant to be able to correct and resubmit the form.
Step 3
The information filled on the application are correct and complete, the seed import recommendation letter will be issued on mairs.doa.gov.mm.
